Alice Morey (born 1986, London) lives and works in Berlin. Her practice navigates the tension between control and transformation, presence and absence. Working with natural pigments, organic materials, and live bacteria, she embraces unpredictability— allowing her materials to evolve beyond her intent. Rooted in ritual and ecological awareness, her work redefines painting as a living process, where materials become active participants in cycles of change, decay, and renewal.

Alice holds an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art, London, and a BA in painting from the University of Brighton. Alice is part of Phaidon's latest drawing edition; Vitamin D3, Today's Best in Contemporary Drawing (2021) and had her first solo institutional exhibition in Germany at MEWO Kunsthalle, Memmingen, curated by Lorenzo Graf (2022). Alice has exhibited internationally and has led social projects at Camden Arts Centre, Tate Britain, and Kunsthaus Bethanien. She was an artist in resident at AIR Imagine 5 in South of France (2023), BLANK100×Craveiral (2021), Arnis Residency (2021) AVA, Baptist University, Hong Kong & VAADS Tbilisi
