As My Feet Were Roots
We are delighted to announce our upcoming solo exhibition As My Feet Were Roots by Donna Volta Newmen.
Combining traditional etching techniques with interdisciplinary methods, Newmen creates works in which portraiture becomes a space for negotiating identity, power and collective memory. Drawing on mythology, history and the plant world, her practice brings forgotten narratives into dialogue with the present.
The Opening on July 16 from 6pm – 9pm will feature a performative intervention by Alessandro Giaquinto & Shawn Wu developed in dialogue with the exhibition.
The performance is supported by the City of Stuttgart and Freie Tanz- und Theaterszene Stuttgart.
