Elsewhere, Somehow brings together works by Caroline Douville (*1993, Montreal, Canada), Tina Graf (*1997, Taitung, Taiwan), Benigno Mangovo (*1993, Cabinda, Angola), and José Morbán (*1991, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic).
Working across drawing and painting, the artists explore questions of memory, perception, and experience in a present shaped by movement, shifting contexts, and overlapping realities. Their works create open pictorial spaces in which personal histories, landscapes, and fragments of reality intersect.
The exhibition can be understood as a field of superimpositions and refractions — a moment where different perspectives meet and new meanings emerge. Elsewhere, Somehow describes a state in-between, a practice unfolding across places, times, and realities, where images and identities remain in constant transformation.
The artists are currently connected through international residency programmes, including Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart (Caroline Douville, Benigno Mangovo, José Morbán) and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (Tina Graf).
In the showroom, new works by Spanish painter Julio Rondo (*1952, Sotrondio) will be presented in parallel.
